Transportation Think Tanks deliver tangible results

Under Getting Started, resources include relevant research, toolkits and guides, and information on forming a non-profit or starting a for-profit business. Under Operations, you will find information relevant to the day-to-day operations of your assisted transportation service including driver management, licensing, vehicles, and risk management. Since our first forum in 2000 in Edmonton,
transportation stakeholders have come together to find innovative solutions to address the transportation needs of our aging population. This collaborative approach has produced great advances in seniors assisted transportation.

By working together we now have:

  • ETS Mobility Choices Training Program
  • AMA Driving Angels
  • Online Listing of Alternate Transportation Providers in Alberta
  • Research on Ride-Scheduling Software
  • Transportation Toolkit
  • Transportation Needs Assessments of Seniors and Persons with Disabilities
  • Drive Happiness
Drive Happiness was the product of four senior service organizations working together to respond to the assisted transportation needs of seniors who have difficulty utilizing public and commercial transportation services.
By addressing the need for affordable

 assisted transportation, seniors are
empowered to stay connected with
friends, family, and community and

participate in the activities they used to
enjoy before mobility became an issue.

Affordable transportation creates independence and reduces social isolation within vulnerable seniors.
